WORSHIP MINISTRY
Sunday Early Worship - 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM. Holy Communion, for LCMS Confirmed Members, is offered on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month. Worship format: The Lutheran Hymnal (TLH).
Sunday Late Worship - 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM. Holy Communion is offered at the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month. Worship uses both The Lutheran Hymnal (THL) and non-traditional worship services.
Wednesday Chapel - is a ministry of St. John's Lutheran School, to which St. John's Members and guests are invited. It meets from 8:15 AM - 8:50 AM, except during the Church seasons of Advent (December) and Lent (March, April), when it meets at 1:45 PM. These services are led by our local LCMS Pastors and Vicars from Messiah, St. Andrews (Rockton, IL), St. John's, and Trinity Lutheran Churches of Beloit.
Advent Mid-Week Worships - are offered the first three Wednesdays following Thanksgiving, at 1:45 PM. St. John's Lutheran School Chapel joins this service, during Advent. Sermons are geared toward the children, frequently employing object lessons and story telling.
Lent Mid-Week Worships - begin with Ash Wednesday and continue through Holy Week. Two worship times are offered. The 1:45 PM Service is joined by St. John's Lutheran School Chapel. The service is repeated at 6:30 PM.
Thanksgiving, Maundy Thursday and Good Friday - 6:30 PM
Altar Guild - supports worship ministry by overseeing the preparation of Holy Communion, and the set up of the various liturgical needs of the altar during the seasons of the Church year.
Adult Choir - is composed of Adults and High-School Youth, who learn new songs to sing during worship services.
Pastoral Care to Home-bound and Nursing Home Members - St. John's Pastor and Elders strive to deliver Holy Communion monthly to members with mobility needs.
Prayer Chain and Prayer Intercessors - are members of the congregation, devoted to prayer, who pray prayers requested by members, publicly or privately; and who pray for the ministry needs of the congregation
